What If The Future... Is Now

Despite forever having dreamt of New York City, I don't think I've made any secret of where my heart truly lies, and always will.

Although I never exactly intended for Scarphelia to be a blog about London, I've found that I actually can't help but let my sheer infatuation with the city creep into my words.

I'm lucky enough to be in London most days, but each moment I spend there makes me crave a million more. The city is so vast and diverse, it genuinely hurts my head trying to work out how I can do everything and see it all. That's why I like to take every chance I can to explore, and create little days like this.

The Countdown to New York City

There is one place on earth I find myself having dreamed about so much more than any other.

I've spent almost my entire youth dreamily reblogging photos planning my perfect future there, wistfully imagining all the things I would do if ended up there, spending my days wrapped up in countless movies and TV Shows set in that place...

It's the city of dreams, of course.

Dreams Aren't Created To Remain As Such

I walked slowly across the laminate wood floor, the single dazzling white light consuming my vision as I entered the vast, cavernous space.

I could hear the distant babble of the others clamouring through the costume cupboards and dressing rooms. I'd deliberately hung back innocuously at the edge of the group and silently slipped away when I had the chance.

The Appreciation of Circumstance

(source)

I stood alone beneath the rolling neon boards, the printed pieces of paper trembling beneath my fingers as I gazed up, not entirely sure of what I was supposed to do next.

I heard an approaching clacking of court shoes across floor tiles.

"Can I help you at all love?"

I turned to find a small, smiling woman in a brightly coloured skirt suit looking up at me expectantly.

The Sunshine Perspective

I don't wanna go all Game of Thrones-y on you, but I think the Winter is hard on us all.

(I know this sounds a bit tragic but bare with me here!)

I used to always think I was a born-and-bred Winter baby, getting twinkly-eyed at the first twinge of a chill in the air and getting a little giddy at the sight of knitwear appearing on the shop rails. But I think I've now come to realise that I actually just quite like Christmas, Snow, fairy lights, festive films and big coats.

Hello Darkness My Old Friend

Okay, serious post time.

In a recent post I spoke of how someone's online persona is never a complete reflection of their true self yet that doesn't mean they are a fraud, and about there being things that I chose not to give away online.

But the truth is, in some ways, I guess I can be considered a fraud.

I write of positivity, being silver, seeing the light in every day, when... I'm your classic example of someone who seems to be able to give great advice to others, yet completely unable to take note of it themselves.
